The garden project is set within the context of a newly built villa located in the Umbrian hills, near Perugia. The landscape intervention was designed by Architect Marta Fegiz, with my collaboration, and developed in close synergy with the architectural project by Architect Mauro Zucchetti, with the aim of creating a harmonious continuum between architecture and nature, prioritizing a sober and contemporary language.

The botanical composition is based on a careful selection of Mediterranean species and ornamental grasses, chosen for their ability to integrate with the local landscape while ensuring high sustainability in terms of both maintenance and water consumption. The plant selection was also guided by the desire to offer perceptible seasonal changes, light textures, and a natural yet richly nuanced color palette.

The spaces are divided into functional zones — entrance area, relaxation zone, pathways, and poolside — each designed to interact with the visual openings of the house and the natural topography of the land. The grasses, arranged in large groups, create fluid and dynamic movements, enhanced by the wind and light. Mediterranean shrubs such as lavender, rosemary, and rockrose provide structure and persistent fragrances, while isolated trees, including olive trees and cork oaks, add depth and character to the spaces.
